Jon Spurlock

In 2016, Jon founded the Friends of San Quentin News nonprofit to support the San Quentin News newspaper with charitable fundraising and outside operations, and to help the newspaper staff achieve their vision of providing free access to the San Quentin News to the over 100,000 incarcerated in every California state prison (spoiler alert: they did it!).  Jon is a US Navy veteran and has worked in various industries and roles in business and technology management.  Jon continues to serve as an advisor to the Friends of San Quentin News and its new parent organization, Pollen Initiative.
